Blackhorse farms is a family run farm located in the Fraser Valley in BC.  Our farm is something we've been longing to do for quite some time, but never really had the guts to follow through until last summer.  My close, family friend, Allison Carpenter from Mythic Friesians introduced us to the majestic beauty of the Friesian horse and although being fairly new to the horse world, I knew I had to have one. 

 I found the mare I wanted through Rick Simonetti from friesians4usa.com.  Emke W was imported from Holland and was in foal to Ait 410.  At first I thought, ok, I'll sell the foal to recover back some of my costs from the purchase of the mare...well, anyone with horses will tell you that that it is not a profitable business.  Once Emke had her foal, I was hooked!  the filly was the cutest thing I had ever seen and I wanted to keep her for myself.  

I do not have 30 Ster mares nor am I interested in owning such.  I have Emke, a 3rd Premium FPS studbook registered mare who is the sweetest, gentlest girl with a stunning trot.  She appears to pass on these qualities to her offspring.  

We live and work on 10 acres of lush pasture
